Sermon & Scripture Discussion - 2 Timothy 1:13-2:7
Read 2 Timothy 1:13 - 2:7
- What stands out to you most about this week's message? Is there anything you especially liked or struggled with?
- What is the main theme of verses 1:13-2:7 or what stands out to you the most?
- Paul challenged Timothy with strong verbs in his letter to him. Why do you think that was the case?
- In what ways does sharing in suffering(2:3) help one to “stay strong”, “guard,” and “hold on” to their faith? Any real-life examples?
- Look at verses 3-4: What entangles you and inhibits you from being faithful?
- Look at verse 5: What part of “following the rules like a good athlete” is hardest for you as you strive to stay strong in your faith?
- Look at verse 6: Pastor David encouraged us with the reality that a farmer is the first to taste his harvest. How have you seen this fulfilled from your own suffering?
- From the above questions: What is some way you need to live differently this week to “hold on” and “stay stronger” in your faith?
Prayer Time: (This could be a good week to break into gender groups to share & pray)
- Pray about what might have been shared in the going deeper discussion.
- Pray for our church as we prepare to meet our Candidate for the new Lead Pastor.
