Icebreaker: Did you grow up in a home that is more on the gentle side or the quarreling side when it comes to confrontation?
Sermon & Scripture Discussion - 2 Timothy 2:14-26

1. In verse 16, Pauls speaks of “Irreverent and empty speech”: What do you think he means? How do you think engaging in these things, especially in the church, might produce “godlessness”?
2. Who in your life are you most tempted to quarrel with? Why do you think that is?
3. How does the knowledge from verse 26 which says that people who believe error are victims of the devil, change your view of them and your approach to them?

Going Deeper  - 2 Timothy 2:14-26

4. Why do you think we might be tempted to be the least gentle when it comes to theological disagreements? How can this hinder the truth we want to protect?
5. Self Evaluate: On a spectrum between gentleness and quarrelsome, where do you find yourself most often?
6. How can you better follow Pau’s command in verses 23 and 24? What do you think that might practically look like in your life this next week?
