- How does this passage continue the theme of mutual submission begun in 5:21?
- What is the difference between obeying and honoring parents?
- Is it possible to obey your parents without honoring them? Explain.
- How does disobedience affect parents—Proverbs 10:1; 17:21; and 19:26?
- Give a possible situation where, as an adult, you should honor your parents, and one where you should not.
- In verse 4, Fathers are told to not “stir up anger in their children.” Why would stirring up anger in them be detrimental to a child’s spiritual health?
- Why is teaching them the Lord’s instructions the replacement to “stirring them up in anger”?
