Sermon Discussion: Read Isaiah 9:1 and 6
- Compare the context of darkness in Isaiah 8:21-22 with the hope expressed in Isaiah 9:2 and 9:6. How does the shift from darkness to light impact the meaning of Jesus being the “Wonderful Counselor”
- Isaiah 25:1 describes God’s plans as “formed long ago with perfect faithfulness.” How does this verse deepen your understanding of Jesus as a planner of supernatural wonders?
- The term “Wonderful Counselor” speaks to Jesus' supernatural wisdom and guidance. How is this different from how we might typically view a counselor or therapist?
