- Why do you think “Judge not” is one of the most quoted verses in culture — even among people who don’t follow Jesus?
- Jesus uses hyperbole, or extreme overstatement, to make his point with the splinter/speck, beam/log. Can you name some other examples where Jesus uses hyperbole while teaching?
- What does Jesus reveal about the heart behind condemnation vs. the heart behind lovingly helping someone with a “speck”?
