Chosen To Be Set Apart • 1 Peter 1:22-2:3

Read 1 Peter 1:22-2:3. What stood out to you about this passage or the message on Sunday? What was your main point or takeaway? How does lowering ourselves to being less important than those around us allow us to truly love our brothers and sisters? Peter used two different Greek words for love in verse 22. Philadelphia (brotherly affection) and Agape (unconditional). Why do you think it’s important to distinguish between the two?
Why does Peter say to love “since you have been born again”? Peter gives examples of what love doesn’t look like in 1 Peter 2:1. What are some words we might use to describe the new type of love he describes and how can we practice them?
What does spiritual death entail, and why is being born again such a necessity?
Why is it important that the seed we have been born again into is “imperishable”?
In 1 Peter 2:2-3 it says to “taste that the Lord is good”? What does that mean? See Psalm 34:8, Psalm 119:101-104, Proverbs 24:14-15
Read see 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, Hebrews 5:12-14. What do you think “spiritual milk” is? Who needs it the most?  How does tasting and seeing that Lord is good and spiritual milk work together to help us “grow up into salvation”? Why is it important for a believer to move past being reliant on “spiritual milk”?  What do you think this practically looks like in your life?
Parker shared on Sunday that the imperishable seed in us is meant to grow God’s imperishable fruit. Looking at Galatians 5:22-23, which of these fruits of the spirit are you struggling with most right now? Take some time to pray about this as a group.
