P – Praise God for His faithfulness, that He remains committed to us even when we are unfaithful to him.
R – Repent of and confess any ways you’ve treated people as objects instead of image-bearers of God.
A – Ask to show you what you need to “cut off” so that you can pursue faithfulness and purity in your relationship with God and others.
Y – Yield your heart fully to God, asking Him to purify and renew you with the courage to do whatever it takes to live in purity and faithfulness.

Ice Breaker: If you could describe a healthy friendship or relationship with a movie title, what would it be?”

Discussion Questions: Read out loud Genesis 2:20-25

Going Deeper Read Aloud Matthew 5:27-32
  • How does purity and faithfulness apply to all followers of Jesus, not just married couples?
  • What lies do people believe about lust being “a private sin,” and how would you respond to those lies?
  • How does lust (and pornography) shift the way we see other people—from image-bearers to objects?
  • Jesus says to “cut off” anything that leads us into sin. What might that look like in real, practical terms—without falling into shame or legalism?
  • How does Jesus’ teaching re-center the purpose of marriage on God’s glory rather than our personal happiness?

Application:

  • How can we extend grace and understanding to those who have experienced divorce while still honoring Jesus’s high view of marriage?
  • What boundaries, habits, or “heart shifts” might God be prompting you to make to protect purity and offer faithfulness?
