Announcement:

Please honor the “Group Political Discussion Practice” guidelines we gave you back in Oct. They are just as important to follow post-election as they were pre-election.

    • How does considering the broader context of the Old Testament Law help us approach challenging passages on sexuality?
    • How are God’s boundaries around sexual relationships intended for our benefit?
    • How does this align or differ from the cultural messages we encounter about sexuality?
    • In what ways does contemporary culture ask sexuality to do more than it was designed for?
    • Our society often uses sexuality as a foundation for identity. What are some of the dangers of using sex for this purpose? How might understanding our spiritual identity in Christ offer a different perspective on our sense of self and belonging?
  • How can we reclaim a view of sexuality that honors its original purpose without letting it define our identity?
  • Going Deeper:

  • What are some ways we can build a church community where individuals feel loved, welcomed, and supported, even if they hold views that differ from ours?
    • What role should grace play in our interactions with people struggling with their sexuality while staying true to biblical teachings?
    Next Steps:
  • The reality is we either know someone or will soon encounter someone who wrestles with their sexuality, so what steps can we take to show compassion without compromising on biblical truth?
