Grow Group Questions - November 23, 2025

Announcement: Any ideas for a Group Christmas Party? Plan it now!

P-Praise and thank God for His generosity toward us (be specific)
R-Repent by confessing where you have clung to treasures on earth
A-Ask for a “healthy eye”. A heart that sees possessions through the lens of God’s Kingdom
Y-Yield your possessions, your resources, your comfort, and security back to God

Ice Breaker: What’s something you once treasured that now makes you laugh (or cringe)?

The Sermon -  Read Aloud Matthew 6:19-24
  • In your own words, how would you describe the difference between “treasures on earth” and “treasures in heaven”?
  • Why do earthly treasures have such a powerful pull on us, even though we know they can "rust, rot, and be stolen"?
  • The sermon described generosity as both what we do with what we have and how we feel about what we have. How does this definition expand or challenge how you normally think about generosity?
Going Deeper - Application
  • The sermon illustrated how we often “put on sunglasses” and deceive others and ourselves into thinking our hearts are generous. What are some ways Christians can convince themselves they’re generous when they’re actually still holding tightly to their stuff?
  • What indicators help reveal who (or what) you are truly serving—God or money?
  • Jesus calls us to hold everything with an open hand, using what we have for His Kingdom. What is one area of your life where your hand tends to stay “closed”? What might it look like to open that hand?
  • What step can you take this week to shift your allegiance—from stuff to the Savior?
