R- Repent by confessing ways you cling too tightly to this world instead of living with eternity in mind.
A-Ask God to help you live faithfully in this world while keeping your heart set on the world to come.
Y-Yield by surrendering your life to God’s greater story.
Ice Breaker: What kinds of moments in your life produce the emotion in you, “This feels like heaven on earth”?
The Sermon Setup: Read Revelation 21:1-4 and 21:9-14
Think about the description of the New Jerusalem:
Why is it significant that God is not going to destroy the city, but he is going to renew it?
What are some aspects of the New Heaven and New Earth that connect back to the Garden of Eden in Genesis?
How would these verses have encouraged the original audience during a time of intense persecution?
